Business Development & Acquisition team
The Business Development & Acquisition team works to grow our campus by attracting businesses to 4 clusters of companies and activities, our so-called “ecosystems”. Within an ecosystem, a business will find facilities, knowledge, services and network to make it thrive. The team members have a double responsibility: to continuously grow the attractiveness of the ecosystem, and to acquire new members.
Lucie Wenmakers is accountable for the large Materials Ecosystem, which focuses on the design, manufacture, characterization, formulation and application of plastic materials. Particular strengths include application of plastic materials in the automotive and construction sectors
Ed Rousseau is responsible for Additive Manufacturing, or 3D-printing, which includes printer hardware, materials, design and value engineering and actual production of 3D-printed parts, with both metal and plastics. A particular focus area is the support of regional SME’s in learning to make use of this new technology. Another area of strength is the production of articles for medical application
Kurt Gielen looks after the Biomedical sector, and more specifically at cell therapy and regenerative medicine. We are a large provider of flexible clean room facilities that are required to upscale new technologies
Marc van Doorn covers the Chemical Process Technology business, with a particular focus on technologies that reduce CO2 emissions including biobased raw materials. The heart of the ecosystem is formed by our pilot plant facilities (both shared and custome-built) where new processes can make the step from laboratory scale to semi-commercial scale
Edwin Bakker concentrates on companies and activities that support many if not all ecosystems, for instance engineering, IT, education or financing. Edwin is a specialist in the field of subsidies.
The BD&A team is led by Eric Appelman

Safety and security at Chemelot Campus
Chemelot Campus is part of the Chemelot site, a location with chemical plants that handle hazardous chemicals. Because of the risk of related incidents, visitors must know what to do in case of emergency. For that purpose a basic instruction was set up, to be followed before the visit. This instruction is about what to do in case of a siren alarm.
For reasons of safety and security all visitors need to be registered before accessing the campus.
