OCI Nitrogen is one of the European market leaders in fertilizer. They are also the largest melamine producer worldwide. The ammonia that OCI Nitrogen produces is the basis for the rpoduction of fertilizer and melamine.
Worldwide the demand for food is increasing. The fertilizer of OCI Nitrogen plays an essential role in improving the productivity of agriculture. In this way OCI Nitrogen supports the increasing demand for food in the world. In addition to fertilizer producer, OCI Nitrogen also produces melamine. Melamine is used as a raw material for adhesives and resins in many applications such as furniture boards, laminate flooring, coatings and paints and plastic products.
Regional and international
OCI Nitrogen has a history of more than 80 years. In 1927, the company started as the Nitrogen Binding Company and then, after various owners, continued in 2010 under the name OCI Nitrogen. The head office and the main production facilities are located at Chemelot in Geleen (the Netherlands). OCI Nitrogen also has two port facilities, OCI Terminal Europoort and OCI Terminal Stein, which connects OCI Nitrogen with the North Sea and inland shipping.
OCI Nitrogen offers work for around 500 employees in the South Limburg region. Worldwide 750 employees are working at OCI Nitrogen. That makes OCI Nitrogen as organization an exciting and international environment
