SABIC

From electronics to construction, from agriculture to mining, from personal care to computer hardware. From Brazil's World Cup stadiums, to the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. From securing the world's food supply, to exploring new frontiers. At SABIC, we bring to life the visions of our customers to help them realize their ambition or their product - whether it is something stronger, brighter, greener, smarter, or altogether better.

Our journey started in 1976 when the Saudi Arabian Government decided to use the hydrocarbon gases associated with its oil production as the principal feedstock for production of chemicals, polymers and fertilizers.

We have evolved rapidly and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) is now one of the largest petrochemical companies in the world. We have a clear ambition, to be the preferred world leader in chemicals. We partner with our customers, helping them to achieve their ambitions.

Our businesses are grouped into Chemicals, Polymers, Agri-Nutrients, Metals and Innovative Plastics. The company has significant research resources with innovation hubs in five key geographies – USA, Europe, Middle East, South East Asia and North East Asia. SABIC operates in more than 50 countries across the world with around 40,000 employees worldwide.

Approximately 1.800 SABIC employees are employed in Limburg, either in the European headquarters in Sittard, at the Brightlands Chemelot Research Campus in Geleen or at the production site in Geleen.
