Food, nutrition and logistics are the three main areas of focus at Maastricht University Campus Venlo. Research and educational topics range from food innovation and the psychology of eating to logistics optimization. Research at Campus Venlo is done in an interdisciplinary fashion within three research lines.
The Centre for Healthy Eating & Food Innovation (HEFI) focuses on the promotion of healthy eating habits by researching the effects of food on human health, developing innovative, healthy food products and advancing healthy dietary habits.
The Food Claims Centre Venlo (FCCV) has two primary functions: helping entrepreneurs to scientifically substantiate food health and safety (for claims, for example) and researching food policy developments. FCCV also serves as an information source and a knowledge center for entrepreneurs, a place where large companies and SMEs can turn to with their questions about the safety of new food products.
The Centre for Logistical Optimisation (CfLO) seeks to offer an inspiring (academic) environment focused on conducting high-quality research, sharing knowledge and stimulating innovation within the logistics sector.
HEFI is located at the Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo (Villa Flora), and FCCV and CFLO are based at Maastricht University Campus Venlo in the city center (Venlo).
In addition to these three research lines, Maastricht University Campus Venlo offers three study programs: University College Venlo (bachelor’s program), Health Food Innovation Management (master’s program) and Global Supply Chain Management and Change (master’s program).
